Ypres Regularity
Ypres Historic Regularity 2024 timed by Momento: a regularity stage of… 52 km!

With summer in full swing and the Ardeca Ypres Rally only just over, Club SuperStage is looking forward to the winter period. That’s when its calendar features the Ypres Historic Regularity timed by Momento. From 22 to 24 November 2024, the top regularity drivers will head to the magnificent historic centre of Ypres to take part in the most challenging regularity rally on the Belgian calendar.

Old ingredients are back

As you could read in an earlier press release, we are revisiting some venues that revive the atmosphere of the very first edition, including the return of a recreational tour on Saturday. But there is more!

Sporting managers Jens & Bjorn Vanoverschelde have been scouting the route in recent weeks and came home with… a 52 km regularity test! “We want to present some longer regularity trials this year, culminating in a 52 km regularity test in the darkness on Friday evening. The known ‘Early Bird RT’ on Sunday morning is also back on the menu and will be just under 40 km…” Other highlight will undoubtedly be the night-time regularity tests on Friday night with the first competitor finishing around 1am. The 6 (!) Closed Road Stages including the test on the cobblestones in the centre of Messines and the return of the passage control in Boezinge, guarantee great public interest.

Winter tyres mandatory

Previous competitors will confirm it: the roads of the Ypres Historic Regularity’s regularity tests are rarely dry at the end of November. On this basis, and to make the sporting battle more equal, the use of winter tyres will be compulsory during the 6th edition! More details can be read in the regulations, but we are convinced that it can only enhance the sporting spirit and challenge!

Ypres Revival: a recreational tour accessible to all

Besides the 3-day regularity rally, this year -just like during the first edition- there will be a recreational tour again. The Ypres Revival will join the regularity competitors during the Saturday stage. The Ypres Revival is a tour of some 165 km along historic ‘Ypres Rally locations’, with a car park in the historic centre and which also has a sporting touch. Indeed, each participant will complete a demo run on 2 Closed Road Stages! The Ypres Revival is open to any type of vehicle, although priority will be given to historic vehicles. In this side event, there are obviously no restrictions on tyres, although the vehicle must meet all the technical standards of the Belgian Highway Code.

Registrations open on 1 August, 8pm! – Limited places

Registration for both the Ypres Revival and the Ypres Historic Regularity timed by Momento will be open from 1 August onwards, at 20h exactly.

For organisational reasons, we are limiting the number of entries for the Ypres Revival to 60 cars! Those wishing to participate in the Ypres Historic Regularity timed by Momento should also not hesitate, as both hotel packages and shakedown participation are limited.
