About Oudenaarde Rally

On Friday 18 and Saturday 19 August Club Superstage organises the 8th edition of the Aarova Oudenaarde Rally, the only rally in East Flanders and also the only rally to be held partly in Flanders and partly in Wallonia.

This year the Aarova Oudenaarde Rally promotes to the Belgian Championship, so we can expect the Belgian rallying top expect in the Flemish Ardennes.

Like last year, two special stages will be run in East Flanders and two in Hainaut. “The concept of the race remains the same, with three loops of four special stages spread over two stages in East Flanders, De Bruwaan and Kruisem, and two in Frasnes-Lez-Anvaing, the new Anvaing test and the Pays des Collines. The regroup will remain in Saint-Sauveur, a well-known venue in Belgian rallying. The service park remains in industrial zone De Bruwaan in Oudenaarde and on Friday evening there will be a ceremonial start on
Market Square in Oudenaarde,” said Alain Penasse, president of Club Superstage.

Some riders from the region will definitely be of the party, such as Niels Reynvoet, Nicola Stampaert,
Lander Depotter, Pieter Vanderhauwaert, but certainly also Patrick Snijers, who will be driving the historic Porsche 911 driven by Rudy Buysse. “Last year I won the battle in Historic with the Ford Escort Mk1 of Rudy. This time I will be driving his Porsche, a genuine 3.0 Gr.4, driving. This race also has a special
significance, because my very first international rally in 1978 was the last edition of the 24 Hours of Ronse,” said Patrick Snijers.
