REGISTRATIONS OPEN FOR THE  BERNARD DEGROOTE MONTEBERG RALLY

11 STAGES – 121 km

The 52nd Bernard Degroote Monteberg Rally 2024 is the first event of the year for Club Superstage and is scheduled for Sunday 5 May. The regulations for this classic have been published today and anyone who wants to register for this event, that starts and ends in Poperinge, can now do so. It is the ideal preparation event for the Ardeca Ypres Rally.

The Bernard Degroote Monteberg Rally will start again this year in the attractice Markt in Poperinge, which also hosts the service park. The regrouping will be held in the centre of Nieuwkerke, just like last year. This year we see another big novelty with the introduction of a new special stage in Wijtschate, a challenging stage of 13.67 km, the longest stage of the Bernard Degroote Monteberg Rally.

The first car starts from the service park in Sappenleen in Poperinge at 8:00. The first test is the 13.67km Wijtschate test, followed by the 10.90 km test over the Monteberg. Regrouping in Nieuwkerke comes next, after which is the 7.81 km in Busseboom. After three tests, the teams return to the service park. This loop is repeated three times. In the fourth and final round, only the Wijtschate and Monteberg tests will be completed, after which the winner will be honored at 18:10 on the Grote Markt in Poperinge.

Last year, Jos Verstappen achieved his very first victory in rallying in the Monteberg Rally, after a very exciting duel with Davy Vanneste, who made a mistake in the final stage. This year too, a strong Dutch delegation will be at the start in Poperinge, because the race counts for the Dutch Clio Trophy, organised by the brothers, Jasper and Jim Van den Heuvel.
