The Ardeca Ypres Rally is fast approaching, and Club SuperStage is already preparing for this year’s Ypres Historic Regularity.
The Ypres Historic Regularity will take place on December 5, 6 and 7, while the Ypres Revival – a touring event with no competitive sections – will join the festivities on Saturday, December 6. The December date will provide the perfect season finale or a full-scale preparation for the (wintery) spring events of 2026. December is traditional date for the Ypres Historic Regularity, and it will only be enhanced by the Ypres’ historic town centre. It will host the service park and podium, and will already be steeped in the Christmas spirit that will be enjoyed by the public and teams alike.
The sporting character remains unchanged: about 30 regularity tests, rarely dry in early December, including several stages in the dark. The classic regularity tests are alternated with Closed Road Stages: regularity tests on closed sections of roads that were part of the WRC round organised by Club SuperStage in 2021 and 2022.

The introduction of coefficients
After the mandatory use of winter tires was introduced at the last edition, the organisers are taking things a step further.
“Since the first edition, the Ypres Historic Regularity has featured a separate classification for vehicles built before 1969 or with an engine capacity of less than 1300cc.” Sporting directors Bjorn & Jens Vanoverschelde said.
“This secondary classification, under the name ‘Frans Thevelin Trophy’, was a competition within the competition. Starting this year, we will apply a favourable coefficient to penalties for this group of participants. Take the Dupont family, for example: they performed brilliantly in the top 10 last year with their Mini Cooper S, but now, thanks to the addition of a coefficient, they can contend for the podium! In short, you no longer need a powerful car to make it onto the Ypres Historic Regularity winners list!”
Pre-2000 category
To make the event as accessible as possible, the ‘pre-2000 category’ will be introduced this year. Cars built between 1/1/1993 and 31/12/2000 will be eligible. This category, introduced by the FIA this year, can be an extra incentive for younger drivers to participate, as vehicles of this age are attractive to many car enthusiasts and they can be, in general, more affordable. However, as the performance level of these cars is undoubtedly higher, a coefficient will also be applied to this category.
It is clear, Club SuperStage is doing everything possible to ensure the Ypres Historic Regularity is once again among the top European regularity rallies in 2025. The regulations are available in the competitors areas. Registration opens on August 1, 2025.
