Stéphane Lefebvre : “There is a lot of dirt on the road. It is very difficult to estimate the grip in the braking zones, but that will definitely improve in the second loop. I’m not worried at the moment.”

Chris Ingram: “I lose a lot of time when cutting. The VW Polo GTi is too low to the ground. We lose time there. That’s why I’m convinced we’re very fast on the other parts of the stage.”

Maxime Potty: “We hit a post in the wide left at the top of the Kemmelberg. As a result, the tyre came off the rim and we lost about 30 seconds.”

Cédric Cherain: “I have to be smart. I want to keep Chris Ingram under pressure, but I can’t let the two front runners, Chris Ingram and Adrien Fourmaux, drive me crazy. To do a good job in the championship I have to finish first or  second. I certainly can’t let Maxime Potty come back.”

Bernd Casier: “I know where I made the mistakes and where I wasted time. That’s what happens when you don’t drive enough rallies. It may be logical, but it’s still frustrating…”

Pieter Tsjoen: “It is going better than we expected, but there is still more to it. Freddy was not yep sharp. For example, he did not hear a note, so we missed a call and left at least a second on stage. At another time  he forgot to activate the “launch” before the start… There’s more to it.”

James Williams: “Despite our starting position as 21st, the times are excellent. I think we should be around 10th after correcting the times. If we can start like this tomorrow, we can still move forward.”

Gilles Pyck: “There is undoubtedly more to it, but the question is whether I should increase the pace now. It is going very well for the time being.”

 Lietaer the fastest in Historic

Sitting in22nd place overall, Paul Lietaer lives up to his reputation after SS 4. The “mustache” is in the lead in Historic ahead of Didier Vanwijnsberghe and Pieter-Jan Maeyaert.  Without his one-minute penalty for illegal reconnaissance, Stefaan Stouf would be in 2nd place with barely a 2 second gap…

In Historic, Jonas Dewilde leads the field, with 1″9 ahead of Tom Heindrichs, who lost a few seconds due to a spin
