Entries are pouring in for the Ardeca Ypres Rally

With just four weeks to the Ardeca Ypres Rally, the list of entrants is gradually taking shape. It already looks very promising, because the organization has already received more than 90 registrations and there are certainly more to come. You can register until June 5, so be quick and don’t hesitate and register!

At Club Superstage, preparations for the Ardeca Ypres Rally are in full swing and plans are being made among the teams. The confrontation between the top drivers of the British Rally Championship, who are completing their third round of the season in Ypres, and the Belgian champions of the Belgian Rally Championship promises to be very exciting.

With a victory in the Jim Clark Rally, his second win in a row, Frenchman Adrien Fourmaux has certainly proven to be the favorite for the British title. Fourmaux should be able to make a difference, especially on the Ypres asphalt, although confidence may not be optimal. In the previous two World Championship events in Ypres, he went off the road. Then Chris Ingram undoubtedly has more confidence, after he was the best private driver with a Skoda in Ypres last year. This time the Brit opts for a Volkswagen Polo GTI from Wevers Sport.

These are just a few internationals, with more coming to test the skills of the home drivers. James Williams, will go up against the Belgian Championship leader, Maxime Potty who will rally his Citroën C3 Rally2. Charles Munster has already registered with his Hyundai i20 N Rally2. These two young guys, at 23 and 21 years old respectively, represent the exciting future of rallying. But, on the fast laps of the Ardeca Ypres Rally, experience is also a great asset. Who better to prove that than Freddy Loix. Mister Ypres, holder of the absolute record in Ypres with 11 victories, will be at the start with a Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo. The notes will beread by Pieter Tsjoen, eight-time Belgian Rally Champion and the only one who managed to win Ypres as a driver and co-driver. Add in Davy Vanneste with a Volkswagen Polo GTI to that and you already have a fascinating entry list.

Further in the field there is much more to be found. Junior Planckaert will, undoubtedly, start with confidence on his debut in Ypres, after his second place in the ORC. And how far will Gilles Pyck get on his debut in Ypres with a top Hyundai i20 N Rally2?

We can also expect a lot from the audible and visual spectacle that comes from the Porsches of Glenn Janssens, Tim Van Parijs, Pieter-Jan Michiel Cracco and Tuur Vanden Abeele, who compete against the Alpines of Amaury Molle, among others. In Historic, Stefaan Stouf does not opt for his Porsche, but for the Ford Sierra 4×4 Cosworth to compete against the Opel Ascona 400 of Paul Lietaer and the BMW M3 E30 of Pieter-Jan Maeyaert.

This is just a selection from the provisional entry list, which already has more than 90 participants. Registrations are open until June 5. Don’t hesitate is the message, because it will be a strong Ardeca Ypres Rally on June 23 and 24.
