Noël Franklin Shakedown – 19 June

The Ardeca Ypres Rally will make a grand return to the picturesque village of Boezinge, as In Herberg de Zwaan with Club Superstage presenting plans for this years event. The Noël Franklin Shakedown, is supported by 12 local entrepreneurs, presents a great for all the drivers in the Ypres Rally. It will be organised in Boezinge on Wednesday, 19 June.

The cozy village of Boezinge was the nerve center of the Ypres Historic Rally for many years after moving there in 2001. Every year, rally enthusiasts get to enjoy the test session that marks the start of the rally week in Ypres. This year marks the return of Boezinge, that disappeared in 2018, as the Ypres Historic Rally returned to Ypres and in recent years, it was due to the corona crisis and road works.

“The popular festival and the fun in Boezinge was clearly missed, by Club Superstage, the City of Ypres and by rally enthusiasts. That is why we launched the plan to return to Boezinge this year with a shakedown on Wednesday evening. Some local entrepreneurs put their shoulders to the wheel participate in the Noël Franklin Shakedown on Wednesday, 19 June,” says Alain Penasse, chairman of Club Superstage. “The shakedown is free for all participants registered for the Ardeca Ypres Rally, regardless of whether they drive a modern or historic rally car, regardless of whether they drive in Division 1 or Division 2. In addition, sponsors or other invitees can also be present during this test session. If they take a day license of 65 euros, the traditional Qualifying Stage and shakedown in Nieuwkerke will follow on Thursday.”

Laurens Kinget, CEO of HR company Noël Franklin, brought together a group of 12 local entrepreneurs with a passion for the rally. They will support the return to Boezinge.

“Personally, I have very nice memories of the shakedown here in Boezinge. That was an annual party here in Boezinge. Together with 12 entrepreneurs, we want to turn the Noël Franklin Shakedown into a grand public festival again. There will be a lot of entertainment provided, although we cannot reveal the details yet. Just think of performances, DJs, BVs and Masses, etc.”

In short, Boezinge will again be the place to be on Wednesday, 19 June, because that is where the fantastic Ardeca Ypres Rally week starts.
